Youtube Version of Playful Kiss

Korean TV series “Naughty Kiss” starring popular singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong will be turned into an online version which will show on video-sharing website YouTube starting November.

A press conference was held at Google Korea’s headquarters in Seoul on Wednesday, announcing that the TV show’s producer Group 8 and YouTube owner Google have agreed to create a YouTube version of the series originally based on Japanese comic “Itazura na Kiss.”

The two parties explained that seven ten-minute long episodes, with the same cast and director from the TV show but with new or additional details, will be newly shot and distributed through an exclusive channel on YouTube, allowing viewers from across the world to watch the show.

“This is an innovative attempt through which a domestic drama broadcast on a public network will newly be produced into an online version, and it has significance in that it will diversify the channel through which video contents are distributed,” Group 8 CEO Song Byung-joon remarked.

Starting early October, when the channel for the YouTube version of “Naughty Kiss” opens, viewers will be able to submit entries for story idea contributions as well as take part in an event recruiting subtitle creators for the show from various country.

Directed by Hwang In-roi of “Goong” (MBC, 2006) and “The Return of the Iljimage” (MBC, 2009) fame, Kim and actress Jung So-min star in the TV show on air since early this month on major Korean broadcaster MBC.

Kim plays the role of Baek Sung-jo, the all-around Mr. Perfect-type character who ends up falling in love with a girl always getting into trouble, taken on by Jung.

While the original Japanese comic series has sold over 27 million copies in Japan and has been made into animation in Japan and a top-rated television drama in Taiwan, “Naughty Kiss” was sold to 12 countries across the world ahead of its premiere.

1st Episode of Playful Kiss!!

First episode is OUT!!!!!!! Viikii has the episode with english subs if you need them :) haha. It was good news that the drama was still going to air today despite the strike going on. However, there has been low ratings for the first episode :( surprisingly.... since Kim Hyun Joong is in it lol.... anyways im sure it will improve. G.NA had already release it's first OST for the drama called Kiss Me. Kim Hyun Joong will also be releasing an OST for it. It was already previewed in the 1st episode so I guess it will be released pretty soon. Kim Hyun Joong's acting skills improved a lot so those of you who haven't seen well...go watch it!

SS501 Never Talked About Disbandment

In the Playful Kiss press conference, Kim Hyun Joong talked about the "disbandment" situation. He said that he moved to Keyeast so that he can focus on a bit more acting. But he also stated that sometime next year, he will/wants to be performing again on stage. Kim Hyun Joong stated, "never once did I or the other SS501 members say anything about disbanding", meaning they never had idea of separating while changing different companies. He said that he will probably be preparing as a solo singer sometime next year. Lastly he said,

"Nothing’s decided. People say SS501 will disband. People say that, but nothing was ever said out of our mouths. Then what will happen if SS501 comes out with album? Let’s just wait and see”.

In other words, he's telling his fans to wait a bit more and to not be discouraged by the rumors. He knew that many rumors would arise, so in the Newton Fanmeeting, he told his fans to not listen to any rumors. I guess they were all pretty prepared about what was happening next.
